Cricket Development Courses (CDCs) provide further cricket opportunities in group coaching based sessions. Places on each course are limited to create a high quality coaching environment. Each course will feature a variety of batting, bowling, fielding and wicketkeeping skills, drills and small sided games. Many of these games include tactical, leadership and captaincy development. A great way to develop confidence through cricket. A real highlight of our CDCs is the multi skill approach to many activities. Using this “multi skill” format allows for development of all physical literacy skills such as agility, balance, co-ordination and speed (the ABCs), ideal for all sports. Coaching highlights importance of diet, recovery and lifestyle reinforcing our approach for “player, personal and social development”.

A real feature of all courses is the attention to detail and “player centred” approach to coaching and tuition. With young players we aim to enthuse and capture the imagination for cricket and, more importantly, a positive attitude to exercise and competition. We believe an active lifestyle is part of leading a healthy and balanced life. Encouraging positive long term habits is a major feature with “Performance Cricket”.

Chris Ellison, who manages the programme is a specialist in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Exeter. His background also includes expert knowledge and experience in young people’s development through sport and physical activity. We follow the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB’s) endorsed Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) programme. Using this level of knowledge and expertise a multi skill environment is created. Skills, fitness and confidence gained are transferable to many other sports and activities.
