Chris Ellison - Berkshire Coach of the Year 2009.

1. Current Coaching Environment: Berkshire Emerging Players Programme, Berkshire County Age group programme, Henley Cricket Club junior, senior section and Henley schools, Reading Schools Sport Partnership and Shiplake College

2. Years as a qualified coach: 6 years.

3. Favourite part of being a coach: Working with and watching players who want to develop and improve. The daily learning opportunities in the great variety of environments I work in from schools up to elite level players.

4. Champagne Coaching Moment: anytime I work with players who say “they can’t do”…..followed by a short discussion and a bit of work who then “can do”.

5. Coaching Qualification: UKCC Level 4

I have been fortunate to support such a broad spectrum of coaching. From each area I have drawn tremendous experience and knowledge. However, I intend to keep working, learning and growing especially having achieved accreditation on the ECB’s Level 4 programme. My philosophy in coaching is to help players strive to be “better than yesterday”. I believe players learn most effectively when having fun and enjoyment. This is a core principle of all “Performance Cricket” courses.
